Tax Support

“Bringing years of finance experience into a new chapter supporting tax engagements.”

Nina Garrett is a member of the Tax Support team at WCG, where she assists with processing engagements, monitoring communications, and supporting tax preparation workflows. After more than a decade working in finance and lending, Nina made a thoughtful transition into tax to broaden her expertise and contribute in a new way.

Professional Background & Expertise

At WCG, Nina helps process engagements, manage client communications, and provide operational support wherever it is needed throughout the tax preparation process. Though newer to the role, she brings extensive professional experience and a service-minded perspective that reinforces a responsive client experience.

Prior to joining the firm, Nina worked closely with a wide range of clients—particularly rental property owners—developing a strong understanding of financial documentation, entity structures such as DBAs, LLCs, and corporations, and the requirements often associated with underwriting. Her background allows her to approach tax support with both practical knowledge and adaptability.

Education

Nina earned an Associate of Science before moving into the finance industry, where she continued building real-world expertise through hands-on experience.

Client-Focused Philosophy

Nina believes client service begins with listening. She approaches each interaction with empathy, transparency, and authenticity—helping clients feel heard even when challenges arise. By showing up as her genuine self and maintaining open communication, she works to make the tax process feel more approachable and manageable.

Professional Values

  • Treating everyone with respect
  • Accuracy and accountability
  • Continuous learning
  • Proactive, solution-oriented thinking

Life Beyond the Office

Born in Baltimore and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, Nina grew up surrounded by strong family influences. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandparents—listening to stories, watching her grandmother cook, and learning from her grandfather in the garden.

Today, she is married and shares her home with a dog and a cat. She and her husband enjoy hiking, taking road trips, exploring new places, listening to music, watching movies, and following Formula One and other racing events.

A Distinctive Trait

Nina has an unusually sharp sense of smell—something she describes as both a blessing and a curse. It’s a small but memorable detail that reflects her natural attentiveness to the world around her.

Our Amazing Team Members

Wanna Talk About Your Small Business?

Please use the form below to tell us a little about yourself, and what you have going on with your small business or 1099 contractor gig. WCG CPAs & Advisors are small business CPAs, tax professionals and consultants, and we look forward to talking to you!

We typically schedule a 20-minute complimentary quick chat with one of our Partners or Senior Tax Professionals to determine if we are a good fit for each other, and how an engagement with our team looks. Tax returns only? Business advisory? Tax prep, and more importantly tax strategy and planning?

Should we need to schedule an additional consultation, our fee is $250 for 40 minutes. Fun! If we decide to press forward with a Business Advisory or Tax Patrol Services engagement, we will credit the consultation fee towards those services.

Appointments are typically held through Microsoft Teams and are scheduled on weekdays during the work day. Yes, we can easily accommodate nights and weekends, but those are reluctantly agreed to after some eye-rolling and complaining. Additionally, our schedules are more compressed during tax season (who would have thought, right?).

Shockingly we will return all appointment requests via email with 24-36 hours weather-permitting, or perhaps a phone call (if the moment strikes us). No black holes here! In a hurry, please call us at 719-387-9800.
