“Helping clients tolerate taxes since 2020.”

Fletcher Spears IV, CPA, is a Tax Supervisor at WCG who helps small business owners navigate compliance requirements while planning thoughtfully for the future. Known for his steady, practical approach, Fletcher works closely with clients to simplify complex tax matters and serve as a reliable resource throughout the year.

Professional Background & Expertise

In his role at WCG, Fletcher prepares business and individual tax returns, supports year-round tax planning and advisory, and assists clients with regulatory compliance. He focuses on helping business owners understand their obligations while identifying opportunities to make informed financial decisions.

Fletcher has experience working with a variety of industries, including professional services, retail, and construction. Much of his work centers on flow-through entities, an area he particularly enjoys for its strategic nuances and planning opportunities.

Education & Credentials

Fletcher earned a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Michigan and holds an undergraduate degree in marketing from Ferris State University. His academic strengths spanned both analytical and communication-focused subjects, including math and language studies.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has further developed his leadership skills through a community-based program centered on strength-focused growth and team building. As part of the program, his cohort helped raise significant funds to support a regional farm serving multiple northern Michigan communities.

Client-Focused Philosophy

Fletcher adapts his approach to each client’s individual needs, prioritizing availability, dependability, and practical guidance. He values long-term relationships and works to ensure clients feel informed and confident as they make important financial decisions.

Professional Values

  • Honesty and integrity
  • Continuous learning
  • Team collaboration
  • Consistent, best-effort service

Life Beyond the Office

Fletcher grew up in suburban Detroit as the oldest of three brothers, spending much of his time playing sports such as hockey, baseball, and golf. He was also involved in helping with a small family farm that raised cows and chickens—an experience that instilled responsibility early on.

Today, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and staying active with his family. A dedicated Detroit sports fan, Fletcher follows the Red Wings and Lions and keeps up with Michigan State athletics. He especially values time spent outdoors during northern Michigan summers, often near the water.

A Competitive Edge

Fletcher once earned a college scholarship as a placekicker, a reflection of the discipline and focus he brings to both athletics and his professional life. That same commitment continues to shape his approach to client service and teamwork.

Our Amazing Team Members

Wanna Talk About Your Small Business?

Please use the form below to tell us a little about yourself, and what you have going on with your small business or 1099 contractor gig. WCG CPAs & Advisors are small business CPAs, tax professionals and consultants, and we look forward to talking to you!

We typically schedule a 20-minute complimentary quick chat with one of our Partners or Senior Tax Professionals to determine if we are a good fit for each other, and how an engagement with our team looks. Tax returns only? Business advisory? Tax prep, and more importantly tax strategy and planning?

Should we need to schedule an additional consultation, our fee is $250 for 40 minutes. Fun! If we decide to press forward with a Business Advisory or Tax Patrol Services engagement, we will credit the consultation fee towards those services.

Appointments are typically held through Microsoft Teams and are scheduled on weekdays during the work day. Yes, we can easily accommodate nights and weekends, but those are reluctantly agreed to after some eye-rolling and complaining. Additionally, our schedules are more compressed during tax season (who would have thought, right?).

Shockingly we will return all appointment requests via email with 24-36 hours weather-permitting, or perhaps a phone call (if the moment strikes us). No black holes here! In a hurry, please call us at 719-387-9800.
