Riya Maheshwari is a Tax Supervisor at WCG with nearly five years of experience preparing business and individual tax returns. Known for her analytical mindset and steady composure, Riya approaches tax engagements with clarity and discipline, helping ensure each return is both accurate and well-supported.

Professional Background & Expertise

At WCG, Riya prepares and reviews individual and business tax returns while contributing to research and tax-planning initiatives. Her work has included projects related to international reporting requirements, foreign earned income considerations, and regulatory filings, supporting a thorough and forward-looking preparation process.

With several years of professional experience, Riya focuses on managing key activities within the preparation cycle and helping streamline the review process for final approval. She is particularly interested in expanding her expertise with rental property owners and expatriate taxpayers, recognizing the complexity and nuance these engagements often require.

Education

Riya is a semi-qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a master’s degree in Finance and Accounting. Her academic interests centered on accounting and social science, and an influential higher-studies tutor helped shape her long-term commitment to the profession.

Client-Focused Philosophy

Riya’s approach is grounded in accuracy, clarity, and personalized guidance. By understanding each client’s unique situation and applying a proactive mindset, she works to deliver compliant, optimized returns while helping clients feel informed and confident throughout the process.

Life Beyond the Office

Born and raised in Ahmedabad, Riya spent her childhood sketching, painting, playing badminton, and exploring science exhibitions with friends—experiences that reflected both creativity and curiosity.

Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, cycling along the riverbank, reading across a wide range of genres, and watching cricket with family. She values quality time through shared meals, movie nights, and relaxed evenings at home.

Calm Under Complexity

One of Riya’s distinctive strengths is her ability to remain calm and focused while working through detailed financial data and complex tax rules. She genuinely enjoys bringing structure to information others may find overwhelming—a perspective that continues to support the thoughtful, reliable service she provides.

Our Amazing Team Members

Wanna Talk About Your Small Business?

Please use the form below to tell us a little about yourself, and what you have going on with your small business or 1099 contractor gig. WCG CPAs & Advisors are small business CPAs, tax professionals and consultants, and we look forward to talking to you!

We typically schedule a 20-minute complimentary quick chat with one of our Partners or Senior Tax Professionals to determine if we are a good fit for each other, and how an engagement with our team looks. Tax returns only? Business advisory? Tax prep, and more importantly tax strategy and planning?

Should we need to schedule an additional consultation, our fee is $250 for 40 minutes. Fun! If we decide to press forward with a Business Advisory or Tax Patrol Services engagement, we will credit the consultation fee towards those services.

Appointments are typically held through Microsoft Teams and are scheduled on weekdays during the work day. Yes, we can easily accommodate nights and weekends, but those are reluctantly agreed to after some eye-rolling and complaining. Additionally, our schedules are more compressed during tax season (who would have thought, right?).

Shockingly we will return all appointment requests via email with 24-36 hours weather-permitting, or perhaps a phone call (if the moment strikes us). No black holes here! In a hurry, please call us at 719-387-9800.
