Tax Supervisor
Riya Maheshwari works as a Tax Supervisor at WCG, where she handles the preparation and review of both business and individual tax returns. In 2025, she expanded her responsibilities by getting involved in research related to Forms 5471 and 5472, foreign earned income exclusion, and FinCEN requirements with Sally Rhodes. She also began contributing to tax-planning projects.
Overall, her role focuses on managing key activities involved in tax return preparation and helping streamline the review process for the final reviewer.
With 4.5 years of experience, Riya is also interested in expanding her portfolio by gaining more experience with rental and expat tax returns.
Riya is a semi-qualified Chartered Accountant and has completed her Master’s in Finance and Accounting. In school, her favorite subjects were Accounting and Social Science. One of the most influential teachers in her academic journey was her higher-studies tutor, Nirav Shah Sir. He played a significant role in shaping her career and nurturing her interest in accounting and taxation.
Riya’s approach to helping clients is centered on accuracy, clarity, and personalized guidance. She focuses on understanding each client’s unique situation, whether it is an individual, a business, or someone with foreign taxation requirements. She combines her technical expertise in accounting and taxation with a proactive mindset, ensuring that clients’ tax returns are accurate, compliant, and optimized. She also aims to make the process smooth and understandable for clients, so they feel confident and informed throughout.
Riya has received two awards during her U.S. Accounting and Taxation career, including the “Impact Seasoned Player of the Year” recognition.
