Saloni Patadiya has been with WCG for nearly a year, working on preparing tax returns and planning tax strategies under the guidance of the highly experienced and widely respected Megan Oeltjenbruns. Her day-to-day responsibilities usually involve communicating with clients to gather information and answering their questions.
Professional Background & Expertise
She has 3.5 years of professional experience. In the past, Saloni had the chance to work with a very unusual industry—one that most tax professionals rarely see, partly because it is illegal in some states. While she was not involved in the business itself, she gained experience with the legal side of the cannabis industry, helping CPAs figure out how to handle their tax returns. She therefore has hands-on experience with cannabis tax returns.
Education
Saloni is a licensed Enrolled Agent by profession. Prior to pursuing the EA designation, she was working toward the Chartered Accountant (CA) title, one of the most challenging and widely recognized qualifications in India, the UK, and the US. The CA exam is considered among the toughest professional exams globally.
Unfortunately, she faced a setback during the pandemic, marking her first significant professional failure. While many attempt the CA exam multiple times, she decided to pivot toward US taxation, a choice that has since proven to be one of the best decisions of her career.
Taxation has always been her favourite subject, and she is currently working towards the same.

Saloni believes in maintaining a friendly and collaborative approach while handling each client’s tax return as if it were her own. She ensures that no errors occur, whether from her side or due to any misunderstandings or missing details essential for completing the return.
