Can I deduct the cost of sports, games or hobbies while in college?

By Jason Watson (Google+)

Maybe. Qualified education expenses exclude amounts paid for any course involving sports, games or hobbies unless the course is required as a part of the student’s degree program. You would need to demonstrate in some fashion such as a curriculum or degree requisites detailing this requirement.
