Sean Wellman, Tax Supervisor

Sean grew up in a small Texas town called Hockley, TX. It is located about an hour outside of Houston, TX. He grew up playing baseball, fishing, hunting and exploring the outdoors.Sean went to the University of Houston, majoring originally in Finance and adding Accounting as a second degree. He really enjoyed the accounting classes, and it was the best decision he made as it is the career choice that suits him best.

He has always enjoyed taking something that’s kind of messy and restoring it to organized chaos. Sean believes, as a CPA that enjoys working with small businesses, this really describes what we do best. He takes all the financial “noise” and reforms it into usable information that makes sense to the business owner. Sean always enjoyed the complexity of tax work. It’s a puzzle that has various potential solutions and working through the various tax routes, to find the one that produces the highest tax savings is something he enjoys doing.

Sean is married to his spouse Crystal. They don’t have kids, but they are working on it. Sean and Crystal don’t have pets as they have spent quite a bit of time trying to find their forever home but, they have had a lot of wild critter over the course of their various moves. They raised some wild rabbits who lost their mother. For about a year they also had nightly visits from roughly twenty raccoons, three skunks, two possums and three wild outdoor cats that eventually all became tame enough to pet. Sean and Crystal hope to have a golden retriever and potentially a French bulldog in addition.

When Sean is not working, he enjoys fishing. He has enjoyed fishing his whole life and spent his college years as an offshore guide out of Freeport and Galveston, TX. He grew up fly fishing the mountain streams of the western slopes of Colorado and cut his teeth on the Gunnison River in his grandparents’ backyard. Sean has spent his adult life visiting as many places as he could all over the world, always wetting a line in each. From Kodiak, Alaska to the Seychelle Islands he has fished a lot of locals. Sean and Crystal have really got into rockhounding. They find something very addicting about digging into the ground and finding a unique mineral or crystal created by the earth millions of years ago. They also enjoy attending the Tucson Gem Show every year to see all the gemstone and mineral specimens we cannot find here in America. They have visited many US mines to try their hand as amateur mining; from Utah to Montana to Arkansas and several more in between.
