Matt was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. As a kid, he enjoyed racing go-karts and eventually moved up to stock cars. He also found a passion for golf at a young age, and travelled throughout the state playing competitive golf tournaments until he went off to college. He attended college at Valdosta State University in South Georgia, which he picked because of the numerous golf opportunities. His favorite subjects (does golf count?) were business and accounting.

When Matt is not working, he is spending time with his wife, whom he met during his first semester at VSU in the fall of 2015. He loves spending time outdoors golfing, fishing, and clay shooting. He and his wife own a Malti-Poo named Chewie (because he looked like Chewbacca when he was a puppy).
